Anybody have a bloop tube or sight extender for a 54:18 that they want to part with? Mine's a full pound under weight and needs some gravity out at the end to slow down the wobble. Thanks all!

Wait...you have a 54.18 MS, WITH magazine (if applicable), rings, and scope included, that comes in at 9lb 2 oz? Have you checked on 2 scales?

Don't get me wrong, that just seems like a lot of leeway left, but then, I have an MS R...so you might have a little less weight there if yours is the single shot.

Either way, if you have that much weight allowance left, then I HIGHLY recommend you do more than just stick a sight radius extension tube on the barrel. Get a micrometer out (not calipers, they aren't accurate enough) and take several measurements of the diameter of the muzzle end of your barrel...make sure to measure the very end at several points around it's circumference, and take an average (if there is any variance), and then measure the same way about 1.25" back from the muzzle...this will tell you if you have any taper out there, or if it's truly parallel.

Next, call Killough Shooting Sports and get them to bore one of their Harrell Tuners for your barrel...and make sure to order a set of additional threaded weights for the tuner...with the Anschutz barrel, you will need them to bring total weight up to about 13 oz.

Tuners will do a great deal more for the accuracy of your rifle than a bloop tube, and will also serve to reduce your positional wobble a small amount like you requested.

All you need to do is get the barrel weights that Anschultz made for these rifles..that should get the weight where you need it..available at Champions choise.

Yeah it's stock metal but mounted in a Steve Wooster thumb hole stock. The stock is SUPER light. I have one of his hunter stocks on my 1712 and put 6 oz of lead in the fore end.

Is the tuner legal for silhouette competition? I thought for some reason that they weren't kosher for competition. I've read about the amazing accuracy that they can produce years ago in Precision Shooting with the BR50 guys. I think Dick Wright profiled the Harrell's tuner and raved about it in one of his really good stuff pieces.
