Side Pots for $$ at matches. This could be fun.

We have kicked the idea around of having a little $ at matches to make things interesting. I was thinking about it again and came up with something that might get things interesting and some fun at the same time.
When I use to play darts a lot of the local weekly tournaments would have Ton Eighty (180), High Out and Mystery Out side pots. 180 means you threw the highest 3 dart score possible 3 x triple 20, high out was the highest score taken out to finish a 01 game where you have to double out to win and Mystery Out was where any out recorded was written down and then at the end a poker chip was drawn from all possible outs 2 to 170 and if it matched someones out for the night they won the pot. These pots were progressive except for high out and at times could get to be rather large especially Mystery out. Anyway enough dart info on to my idea.
Everybody that wants to participate puts up $1. Those in B-AA class would need to have 5 in a row as a requirement to qualify and AAA-M would need a 10 in a row to qualify. Here is where is gets interesting. By qualifying you get ONE SHOT at a GOLDEN painted Chicken at your choice of lines. The catch is you only get 10% of the pot for shooting it at the normal distance. If you choose the Pig line you can win 35% of the pot, Turkey line 75% and the Ram line takes the whole enchilada. Or some % roughly there about for each line. This way it entices you to try the harder shot and if you go easy you don't win much unless the pot is pretty big. I bet this could build a big pot quick! You only get one shot per match not per 5 or 10 in a row you shoot that day.
What makes it a little more complicated is that you could of course have several potential shooters trying to win the cash so how to handle those instances is what I am thinking through. Here is what I came up with.
We split it up when you have the chance that more than one person could win it. We could pay out 10 Chicken hits but only 1 Ram hit. OR we could just do a Mystery drawing for the line that everyone will have to try and make the shot from and the pot gets split equal based on the number of shooters, for each miss it regresses back to whatever the % would have been for only one shooter. IE If 4 people qualify and the chip drawn is a Chicken they can only win the 10% as normal each. If the chip is a pig then the 4 would shoot and for each hit they would get 25% and each miss leaves 25% in the pot. Simple % based on the number of shooters that you can win while not giving the whole pot away unless everyone manages to hit.
Would you play such a game a for a buck? I think it would be fun and add some excitement to the end of a match.
