I know scope settings will vary some with powder charge, velocity, etc. But I'd appreciate knowing some approximate settings for a .308 using 168 SMK.

These might help give you further insight to the .308 drop, I hope,
as us girls gotta stick together !
I initially tested Sierra 155, 168 and 175 MK's.
As 500mtrs is a long way to sight-in from scratch, I contacted Sierra on their 'Bulletsmiths' Technical Service, and they were a great help, with charts for drop etc,
and then put my own lead down range from the bench until I was happy, then fine tuned in offhand.
I have a Sako 75 sporter with 22"barrel, and Sako high mounts.
I only have my c,p,t 155 and ram 175 settings unfortunately,
and load Hodgdon H4895. (43.5 (2,700fps at muzzle) and 42.5grs (2,600fps at muzzle) respectively), seated close to the Sierra recommended COAL,
on an old Tasco 6-24 scope @ 24x
which are;
200 - 0
plus 2 to 300mtrs
plus further 4 to 300mtrs
and plus 7 to rams
ciao,
Sean
