Saw a Rattler on the road about 15 miles east of Globe today, so if there out there they will be out at Ben Avery this weekend, he wasn't moving tht slow ,so if you are going to be there this weekend keep your eyes open. I have seen more rattle snakes there than anywhere else!

Saw this one about a mile north of Ben Avery a few years ago. He was feisty and about 4 to 5 feet long!

Well now 259, you obviously haven't tasted any fresh chicken recently. Have to visit jjp or myself ( in a few months) and we can fix you right with the chick on the hoof.

Great photos!
Wonder how many folks have been within viewing distance, but didn't even know the rattler was there?
I bet the rattler knew!

I think Bob's going to start raising them when he moves to Arizona.

I lived in AZ for 13 years and mountain biked nearly everyday and saw ONE rattlesnake, and that was only because some hikers had already spotted it and I stopped to see what they were gawking at. The big one in the photos happened to be crossing the 4wd road I was on and I was able to get decent shots of him. So yeah, 13 years of being in the brush and I only saw two. Like you said, I bet I was right next to hundreds of them and never knew.

Two or three years ago at the state HP we had a snake delay during the match. The little girls setting the chickens were pinned down inside the bunker. Two of the reptiles were making out near the door.

They realy are good to eat. You can filet them out just like a fish with not a bone in the meat. Fry them in a EVOO and butter mixture, damn good.

McAlice, nothing like an audience, especially a young group at that.

We had a similar experience in Ridgway two years ago 1 in the bunker and I believe it was Loren Peter that had one slither out from under his truck.

Yes sir, so are the grizzlys. Although most of the big furries stay away from rifle ranges. Maybe at the Cody Complex you could find one. Happy camping!!
