I shot my first silhouette matches at Yuma, AZ in 1985, and have been hooked ever since. The Cholla Gun Club has an excellent range - I'm glad they are still shooting. Check it out should you be heading south this winter!

Ahh.. the snowbirds have landed and are getting ready to kick off the shooting and relaxation away from the cold, huh? This just makes me look forward to eventually retiring that much more.

Where do you get "snowbirds", I thought they all flocked to south florida during the winter!

Baby Huey, trust me AZ gets it's fair share of snowbirds as well. You need to get out of north Cuba and open your eyes.

Yuma is the city on wheels in the winter. More trailers than houses.

"Yuma is the city on wheels in the winter. More trailers than houses"
More truth than fiction there. Yuma is a city of about 90,000, in the winter time there are anywhere from 90,000 to 110,000 winter visitors in the area. Over 100 RV parks in the valley. The city treats the snowbirds very well indeed, welcomes them with open arms. Nice place to be if you hate snow. Great shooting ranges.
