Hello All:
Am new to this forum and shoot rimfire, high power and BPCR silhouette. However, I do not see a forum dedicated to BPCR anywhere. Any reason why there is not a BPCR forum. If there is and I've missed it, please point me in the right direction for same. Thanks!

Probably because nobody brought it up here before. I also shoot BPCR, but head over to BPCR.net for the info there (even though signing up seems to be a major issue - I've tried on 4 different computers with no success, so I only read and not post ).

Just an educated guess from my reading here that all of the people here are shooting the various Cowboy and bolt guns with scopes games. I don't think I've read more than one or two posts on BPCR and pistol silhouette in the time I've been here.

I also shoot BPCR and I know that there's a bunch on this site, both foreign (New Zealand for e.g.)who also shoot it. I believe the time has come for listing on this site....I think we need the webmaster for that

Thanks for the info. I think in my case it's a disease progression. I started with rimfire and had my fist HP gun built this year. About the time I took delivery I came across a used 1877 made by Axtel. Didn't buy it at that exact moment and it flew off the shelf of the shop that was offering it but I'm seriously thinking about getting into that game ever though it might involve some travel as there are no matches in my area of WA that I know of. Other than Tucson Rifle Club in AZ where do you think there are good places to shoot?

I do not shoot BPCR Silhouette but I know there are a bunch of matches all through out the West. In CA you can shoot at Sacramento, Avenal and Pala to name a few places and in AZ you can shoot at Phoenix and Tucson. If you were to subscribe to the NRA publication Shooting Sports USA which is a free digital magazine you could find a lot of places that hold BPCR matches. Hope this helps you.

G'day from the Bogan Gate Game Ranch,

A group of us down here have been gearing up for BPCR and I managed to run a match at the end of August . I was surprised that it didn't get a mention on here as a lot of Ramslammers turned up and Dooga actually won the day. ( with a cheats gun so the chairman insists! )

We had a great weekend and created a lot of interest in the event. A few more shooters have now invested in BPCR guns, and are looking forward to having a go. Looks like the next shoot will be at the ACT Christmas shoot hosted by Dooga and crew.

I guess the way to get BPCR its own heading will be to talk more about it on here! As I said, we are only just starting out in this event Down-under and more sources of information would be great.

Here's the rig I use for BPCR. It's a Pedersoli Creedmor Sharps in 45-70. I shoot a Paul Jones 540 grain bullet over 60 grains 1.5f Swiss for Pigs through Rams, and a Gibbs 330 grain over 50 grains 1.5f Swiss for chickens. One of my favorite rifles...

I made them - luckily we have a real hardware store here (as opposed to a pseudo hardware store like Home Depot or Lowes) where I got the threaded wood inserts and knob. The inserts install real easy, drill the pilot hole and spin them in using an allen wrench, the center portion is 1/4-20. The pilot holes are blind so the front face of the sticks are clean wood. I made the spikes from 1" stainless angle and a hacksaw. Made for a nice weekend project.
