Shooters:

Jerry and I met with our Gun Club Membership last night to discuss the 2012 event and after much deliberation we have decided to host the 2012 Southern National NRA Air Rifle and Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championship May 31 - June 3, 2012.

This is the first full weekend of June and WILL BE the very last Southern National match that we will host. After 21 years of hosting this match, we are getting too old and tired to do this after this year. We want to give everyone plenty of notice that this will be our last big silhouette match.

Our Swan Song match will be equal in quality or probably better than our other past matches.

Sor sorry to see it pass, but the work David and Jerry have done to put this thing on for so long is tremendous. I stand and applaud their efforts to bring the shooters a venue and memories and experiences that we will never forget. How many "firsts" have we all experienced at Winnsboro?...so many memories. So now what we all have to plan to do is to be there and shake the hands of the men that have provided us such sport for so long one last time on their home field. And all you guys and gals that have been saying to yourselves "I'm going to have to attend that one one of these days have exactly one more shot at haveing a story to share when the silhouette shooters gather around the campfire and begin retelling the stories of the legends that made up what we have come to know as The Southern Nationals, The Greatest Show on Dirt".

Huey and Dustin you will make some great friends and memories.

When I showed up down there last year it hooked me to silhouette forever. It was my second match ever. B class sand bagger from Tn I believe was my name. I knew after that match I'd met a lot of great friends.
