For those of you who have separate standard and hunter guns, what trigger pull weight do you use?
Single-stage or 2-stage trigger?
Thanks.

For Std, it's any safe trigger and user preference when it comes to weight and type. Mine was an Anschutz 2 stage and about 6 ounces.

Doesn't the lack of a pull weight requirement pretty much negate the benefit of a 2 stage trigger? My understanding is that the 2-stage trigger allows for a lighter (effective)trigger pull weight on a hunter gun by taking up most of the 2 pounds in the first stage then making the second stage really light. (which is why 2 stage triggers should be illegal for hunter guns, but that's another debate altogether)
Since you can go as light as you want on the standard gun, what benefit do you get from a 2 stage trigger?
If you have a 6 ounce 2-stage trigger, that second stage must have been REALLY light!

Dustin,
The 2 stage trigger on both rifles allows for consistency between rifles.

At that weight the one stage was almost non existent and acted more as a single stage. You can make the Anschutz match triggers act like a single stage and just add travel to the let off point, especially when you set them that light. I will note that I try to stay around 1 lb to 1.5Lbs now, when the rules allow, as with carpel tunnel I have a hard time feeling the pull weight and have found 'feeling' the trigger works better for me. In fact all my rifles are now single stage triggers.

having 2 guns, 1 hunter @ 2lb trigger and a standard rifle set with a very light trigger i found the light trigger was messing me up when switching back and forth. i went with a slightly heavier trigger pull on my 54.18 @ 1- 1 1/2 lb. i was having a preload issues with the light trigger and when switching to hunter again preload was an issue, found myself snatching trigger. All is well now.
Hope this helps.
