Spring Dynamite Shoot

Sara and I headed to Gateway again for the Dynamite Shoot on Saturday. We left Friday at 5pm. and encountered a spring snow storm along the way. Almost 100 miles of crappy driving for the 270 mile trip. The shoot was well attended again even though it was cool and sometimes quite windy. I fired a total of 70 rds. of 7-08 and only hit 12 targets  Still more than any one else. The wind made it tough to hit such a small target. At two bucks a shot that was $140.00 spent on tickets, but 12 hits paid me ten bucks each for a $120.00 return. It was alot of fun for only twenty dollars. My friends Butch and Tom hit 10 and 8 respectivly. There were a lot of kids there this time and they got to hit a bunch of the close ones off the benchrest with a .17 HMR. When they were gone they got to use a donated .223 to work on the longer targets. It was a race against time to try and hit them off hand before the kids got them first. As a result all 80 of the offhand targets were exploded by 3pm...much earlier than normal. The kids had a blast, so did the big kids. :D

We will be back for the Fall shoot in October.http://s766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/seveno8/boom/

Right on! The video of Tom hitting was cool. I bet it is cooler seeing it in person though. The drive there sure looks different than the weather where you were shooting!
