I have a set of Merreir scope bases that I'm borrowing to make a set of my own. When I measure the front base it has a taper of .015" from back to front. The aft end of front base is .955 and the front is .940....is this built in for MOA ? The rear base is .970 all the way accros. So before I start to make these I wanted to make sure if the taper is really supposed to be there? Or if I should make them the same hieght ? Any help on this would be great.
