Hi everyone,
I'm interested in trying out Smallbore Silhouette here in the northwest. I want to use my dad's old rem 511-P (with iron sights...don't laugh) just to get my feet wet and see if this is as fun as it appears. I've studied the hunter rules and looks like my gun would qualify, except I did ad spacers on to the stock so it fit my lenght of pull. Spacers stay within the lines of the stock, but I wondered if this is legal because it is "attachment" and it isn't stock.

remmy511...spacers are allowed. Many people use various things to make the stocks long enough. Not laughing at the iron sights, shot it that way myself until 1997. Try it, you'll like it!

Hello, Newbie here also to this forum.

Shot silo's way back in the early 80's over in Louisiana for a little while. Not really good at it, but sure enjoyed the action!

Yeah, I do like the math part... seems pretty easy. Even with a bum leg, I can count to 5 !!!

I have met Evelio, and he has encouraged me some to start looking at Silhouette's for fun... I think I am going to try it this year. Been shooting USBR Rimfire matches all last year, and we have what they call a Wildcat style match after the bench match.

Looks like a nice little forum here, and some good help for us newb's at this.

I have some questions... I will post separately....

Had a great time, Byron didn't try to cuddle me but did spend time inbetween cleaning some stands to fill me in on gear and the game.Silho is a lot harder than it appears...So I've been bit, the wallet will be opened at least to get a 6.5x20 on the 511.

Hi Byron, just messing with ya. I think I might have seen you down at Pe Ell on sunday. Did you stop by the infamous Eveys after and have lunch with all of us? Gald you came out to try silhouette. The other Byron probably allready told about the matchs at Tacoma Sportsman Club, Machias, and the match down in Little Rock. We are kinda lucky up here in the northwest where were able to have a match just about every weekend for most of the year. It sounds like you had a good time and will be back. You should definatley come out to Pe Ell Feb 6th and check out highpower, wait what am I saying I did that and now I cant stop thinking about it

From a fellow 511 owner,
they shoot good, although my 49'er doesn't have a scope rail,
and I would hope that your trigger is lighter than my 4lbs pull weight !




As 'Shakes' said, you want to shoot at bigger targets.

These are our Airgun Rams. Not difficult to hit, but a bitch to knock over wth an 8gr pellet !!!
