It's my standard powder for fixed loads in a single shot Schuetzen 38/55 300 gr bullet 15 grs. When I breech seat that rifle at the range I use 4227 because it measures better. Load at home with the bullet in the case and weighing 4759 exclusive.

Most single shot shooters figure 4227 is best for 32/40 4759 is best for the 45/70 with either 4227 or 4759 serving well in the 38/55

If you have access to old loading manuals SR # 80 loads can be used for 4759, It is the powder that replaced # 80

G'day 44 Mag,
I use a load of 10 gr of AP 70 behind a 255 gr cast bullet for the rifle match in CLAS . It is very mild , very accurate and knocks down rams every time . The A.D.I. website lists Universal , Unique and SR7625 as equivalents . Don't know how equivalent but thats reloading for you !
Cheers from down under,
Taps

Thanks all.Decided on 13 grs of 4759 for c-p-t and 20 grs for rams both shoot really well with minimal recoil.
