Just got my American Rifleman in the mail, on page 45 the Remington article, there is a picture there that is none other than Chad Stamm, and the spotter looks like the South African, Tim Inman.

I saw it too and wondered about it. Was that a recent picture or something they had in the can for a long time?

the first time i heard about silo was a remington 700 tv commercial around '96. some more placement in ads wcould certianly help the montly match #'s

It's something that they pulled from the bottom of the can. I can't remember the last time that I saw Tim Inman, but I think it was at Ridgway and he was in a shootoff with Dave Imas for 2nd Place overall for something, can't remember if it was SB or HP or which rifle.

I can't even remember the last time I saw Chad. It must be over 10 years ago. I think it was at Raton.

Gee I know both of those guys. One of them real good. That looks like one of the stainless synthetic 260's with the DBM that I had. I haven't talked to Tim for a while. I saw Chad a few minutes ago in the mirror he hasn't changed a bit. That photo goes back a few years to maybe 1998. We teamed up when he made his trips over here and we had some fun shooting. For what it is worth Ridgway is being planned for 2011.

Hi guys, Tim Inman here. Yip, still around, older, but still mobile. I really miss you guys and the great times I had with all of you on the ranges all over the USA. Yes, Cham Stamm was the guy with me in that picture as he confirmed to me this evening by email. I have not been back in the USA in years - did attend many of the IMSSU World Championships from 1994 till 2004 around the world [France, Finland, South Africa and Australia], then this year also picked up the old guns and shot the 2010 World Shoot in Cape Town and got a 3rd place in class - not bad I supose for not shooting in more than 5 years. Had to stop competitively as I had a back operation first and then later a neck fusion that gave me a real hard time on recovery - especiallly with the big bore. Am planning to start being more active from next year and to attend the 2012 World Shoot again in South Africa. Have seen some great US friends in IMSSU shoots - Cathy Winstead, Ray Schnarre, George Lively, etc. Have to be honest - the period 1994 when I won the Small Bore Hunter was super and the friends made then and after are still in my heart. Anyone is welcome to contact me - my email is in the profile. Would love to get news on results and matches and the updates on the shooters from anyone. Currently run my own IT business for the past 13 years and that takes a lot of my time out from anything else, but will make sure I answer all.
