Sure,
now you start offering that service after I waited since April and just now got my 1712 action in one of Mark's stocks. Where were you half a year ago?

Oh my God! You're killing me, George! After all that work I had to do to turn the CZ lumber into something useful? Yes, indeed that one does burn.

Even though my shooting isn't good enough to warrant one of the Pharr stocks for my CZ 452 Varmint, my gut "Wants" to have one. I guess I'll start saving my money now and daydreaming about the available color combos.
Nice work George,

PARR STOCKS

Hey Chicken,
The Parr stocks, R/T or RT/S can be inletted on just about any action out there. In the rimfire version I have put them in Anchutz 1700, 1710, 1712, 54.18, 1415, 1416, Rem. 40x, 540, 541, Kimbers hs. Win. 52, Sako 94s, NS 522, Ruger's 77/22, and CZ 454. In the high power version, I have put them in the Rem. 700, 40x, Sako's, Ruger's, Win. 70, and Tika's.
I am presently working on a new Rem. 504, and an Anchutz 1827 Biathlon with a Fostner action ( toggle bolt on left side ).
I just thought I let you know how many actions can be inletted in the Mark's stocks, after reading your last post, and the replies, there's seams to be a lot of shooters out there that don't realise how many options are available.

Rem 504

The Rem. 504 is a very interesting action, they have integrated some of the best fitures of the Rem 40x, the Anchutz, and the Sako. The action itself looks very promising, but the barrel accurazy has a lot to be desired.
There are a lot of folks out there that swear by them, but the one we tried did not meet the accuracy required for Sil. shooting. Our project ( STS BUYER ) is to rebarrel it first with one of my left over Anchutz barrel, bedded into the original stock, and see what it would do, if it do shoots good then the next step is to put a Lilja tight bore barrel, and a Parr stock.
The way we look at it, we have $400.00 on the rifle, another $ 700.00 in the barrel, and the stock, and about $ 300.00 labor, Total $1400.00. I have build several Anchutz, brand new out of the box, pull the barrel off, re-barrel, and re- stock, total about $ 2300.00 maybe more.
We think is worth a try, What do you think????.

Evelio, I went through hell with a 504 but stuck with it because the balance suits me and I'm more stubborn than sensible. After two trips to Remington it shoots great and my Silhouette scores have improved dramatically over what I was doing with a CZ American. I plan to have it professionally bedded and tweaked to my LOP (interested? Kitty speaks very well of you) and set up with another scope for next season. It shoots so well now I'm afraid to separate action and stock, let alone perform surgery. IMHO, Remington had a problem with the 504 barrel, but they know how to fix it and will if you're patient and persistent. Since it probably involves replacing the barrel, it's easy to understand why they're anxious to try other cures first.
Reluctantly, I've bought another 504 with the thought of prepping it as a backup rifle for the 2007 season and as the basis for a new build in 2008. This was a reluctant buy because the budget is gone right now and so is time - If this one is rough, too, and Remington takes a lot of coaxing again, I'll have a situation. I did it now because the supply of $400 504's can't last forever, readying a backup for next season will take time and I don't want any equipment distractions when the 2007 season starts. This past season I obsessed over equipment and the basics - next season I want to focus on form.
So yes, the 504 can shoot. Mine likes Eley Silhouex and tolerates Practice 100 - S&K and Wolf shoot well, but then won't extract after about three rounds, something apparently peculiar to this rifle. If the bore on your clients' rifle is over sized, has voids in the rifling or is rough (mine was all three), and it's still eligible for warranty repair, send it back to Remington. It's pretty amazing that they built such a solid action, dropped it in a nice stock, balanced it so well, and then screwed up the bore. Go figure.

BLAUBEAR.
The deal with the 504 is an experiment, my client is also a good friend, he is providing the rifle, and I will provide the barrel, and the labor, we are trying to make sure that the whole action, and trigger with a good barrel can shoot a 1/2 min. group at 100 meters consistently.
At this time there is no sence to keep going back to Remington to fix it, since all we really want out of the whole gun is the action. The barrel now provided is really to short, and light, we want to go with a 24" long straight tapered barrel, and a split finger Parr stock.
Actually the project is to come up with a suitable action in the $ 400.00 range that can be comparable to a $ 1200.00 Anchutz before any other modifications are made.

Evelio,
Rgr that.. great work by the way.
What I was "announcing" is that they are now "Pre-Inleted" for the CZ's by Ian and will ship that way, I.e. ALMOST a true drop-in with no gunsmithing required. It is my understanding that he only does this with (3) actions ... 17XX, 54, and now the CZ...
Thanks,
Chicken...
BTW> I will be delivering John's rifle today, I'll keep you posted on his reaction...He sounds like a kid on X-mas eve....

"1/2 min. group at 100 meters consistently" sounds great- but is it possible given the limitations of the ammunition and guns that fit our silhouette standards?
Are you talking about all shots within 1/2 min circle, or the average deviation from the point of aim being under 1/2 min?.
It sounds great- but that sounds like a very high standard.
If you succeed I suspect there will be a big shift in what people are shooting...
