Hi. I want to buy a decent silhouette scope (I'm thinking Sightron), and after reading through the posts here it seemed that Chicken George is a well-liked vendor. How do I reach him???
Thanks,
JD

If you want a 24 power, I've got one for sale.

Thanks - what do you have? I'm all for used gear if it's in good shape & reasonable. I had my first taste of 22 silhouette this past weekend, and I'm afraid I'm hooked... My Win 52 isn't legal for hunter or standard, so I've got a rifle on the way and now need a scope. I'm most interested in 6-24, but an 8-32 or 10-40 would work if available in a configuration that's practical for the silhouette shooting.

herniated yourself hefting that puppy? I'm glad you took the butthook off. You could have really hurt yourself. Nice shooting, BTW. Remember the Texas State match is a 1 day affair in Haltom City.

Uh-oh... a witness. So glad you showed yourself before I mentioned the 38/40 I scored in my first outing!
Actually, as poor as my score was, I really enjoyed the opportunity to shoot. After I left PSC I picked up my daughters from ballet, had them fed by 1:00, and had a Weatherby XXII on order by 2:00 so I could be legal next time- think I'm hooked? All I need now is a scope. And some pointers on technique. And maybe a little practice...
Thanks again for the help, and I look forward to seeing you out there next time!

It's a
Sightron SII Big Sky 24x44 for $300. It's on a PCP air rifle right now, and like new.
Not to talk you out of my Sightron, but a
Leupold VXII 6-18x40 would really look nice on that Weatherby!

Where did you order from? CDNN has "blemished" Weatherby XXII's for $590. A fellow on RFC bought one and it only had a small scrape on the stock, otherwise it was brand new. That is a pretty fair deal!
I bought a "used" one a couple of weeks ago for $625. I say used because it is LNIB. Clearly hasn't been broken in yet. Shoots like a champ so far.

I bought mine on a GB auction, $689 NIB. I'm thrilled to hear that it shoots well, I'll need all the help I can get!

Weatherby uses an Anschutz 64 action in their stock - beautiful, balanced, fits and man does it shoot! Light enough for field carry but who wants to carry that gorgeous wood into the brush?

I took mine out today and shot a nice group at 100 yards. I am extremely happy so far. More testing is needed.
Started from the left (#3) and worked right. My first three shots hit the black but I couldn't see them and I thought I wasn't even hitting the paper. So I shot at a chunk of clay pigeon and nailed it. Then I moved back on paper and that is the dropped shot. I wish I would have just kept shooting. The second group opened up in some wind gusts (I am still learning to dope the wind). The third group though... it all came together! .694" group at it's widest, and the top four grouped into a .557" spread. To bad that dropped shot didn't stick with the other four.
