I want to buy a Mark Pharr or Marv Pearson built Anschutz Smallbore Hunter in a Pharr RT/S Stock. Prefer the build to be on a 54.18 MSR action but will consider a 1700 Series with the 5022 trigger fitted. I must be able to verify with Marv or Mark that they built the rifle in its entirety and that there have been no modifications except by the original builder. Please: No Nesika Bay stocks or original Pharr RT. They do not fit me.

Mr. Hudd.......I don't know anybody that fits a 5025 or a 5018 trigger to a 1700 series rifle these days, it's because the catch length engagement is so radically different between the 1700 series rifles and 54 series rifles.

The two stage trigger on the newer 1712's is a # 5109 two stage outfit. It's only your pocketbook that decides which action base you choose. The 54's with the 5018 or the 5025 super match trigger are three times the gun that a new 1712 is.

Now as far as finding a used specific purpose silhouette rifle gun this mythical guy Mark or Marv, it's my guess that the few people who actually have one these old relics, are going to ba a little reructant to part with them any time soon considering the alternatives as of late.

My advice Bobby ....look west young feller all the way to Houston.

Thanks Marv for the technical advice on the triggers and what to look for. There definitely will be Metalhead parts riding on the rifle we purchase or have built.

I have missed a lot of good rifles in the past few years that came up for sale that I did not hear were for sale. There are folks out of work that need money to buy the family Christmas presents or keep the lights and heat on. Others have lost the Silhouette Bug and these masterpieces of technology are just sitting around and collecting dust. I will pay a fair price for these rifles. I am not here to take advantage of someone's economic misfortune.

Due to the kindness of other competitors we have shot many different kinds of Smallbore Hunter Rifles.The younger members of my family that shoot have a certain affinity for the rifles of certain stock design(Pharr Split finger), bedding methods, barrel fitting techniques and just simply the way certain Rifle Smiths' products feel. All my kids have finally stopped growing and now we are willing to spend the money on better equipment.

If pictures and details of the right rifle hits my e-mail, the seller will receive payment by overnight FEDEX(10 A.M. the next morning) if they are in a hurry for the money.
