On Saturday the temps stayed in the 60's cool with light winds. I will say pretty good conditions for the range at Colorado Rifle Club. On Sunday the same cool weather in the morning along with strong winds (10 to 15 MPH). Match number two on Sunday the wind increased but it also warmed up. We lost three shooters because of the poor conditions. The scores went down as you would expect for the conditions.

Dave,
Looks like it was chilly...I see even the natives wearing warm clothes. Maybe I should bring along more than two sets of long johns?

Daves giving you the sugar coated version of the second day Mary, I wore coveralls the first half the day and the winds were 10-15 mph, the second half the day we couldn't even shoot at the firing positions because the wind was HOWLING 15-25 mph. Notice that Dave shot a 9 and I shot a 7, oh yea we were having fun...not. We all moved over the edge of the bank somewhat out of the wind but it was still miserable. If you want I'll bring an extra pair of coveralls for the 22 state match in case you need them, my wife's should fit you.

Kevin, already packed two sets of long johns in the equipment going out tomorrow, but will have to go to Golden to get it Friday....so I may pack some in my carry on, if I'm not stuck carrying too many reference standards by hand.
I should be out there by Thursday night....sounds chilly.

David is really downplaying the wind. I went out Sunday and watched the second match. I was standing on the regular firing line and had a hard time holding a camera steady to take pictures. The wind sock out by the entrance was standing straight out. Wind was easily at 25+ at times. There was a prone match over on the small bore range and the competitors were having a hard time holding their rifles steady.

David, good looking pictures and score sheets.

WHOAAAAAAA !!!! HOLD ON.....you guys are killing me!!! Just as I was planning for the first ever Steel Chickens High Power Silhouette Extravaganza to be held at CRC , you guys go and tell everyone that we have a wind problem out at CRC. BULLCRAP I TELL YA !. We NEVER have wind in Colorado. NEVER HAD any wind out there, NEVER WILL have any wind out there....Never!! Always CALM at CRC just like PA...Washington...CA...AR...MO.. etc. Pay no attention to these CO posters, folks. Make your plans early to attend this unforgettable shooting experiance. Free food 24/7...no entry fee...free airport shuttle service...sight seeing and shopping in beautiful downtown Byers Co. for the ladies. Duckys Southern Nationals show will pale in comparison. :ymparty: :ymparty: :ymparty: Forget it....just kidding.

Seriously, I was checking in before unplugging the computer for awhile. I recently sold my house and had no choice but to miss the HP match . I close with the new owners this Friday and had to spend the last several days doing the packing and moving thing. #:-s

I want to thank Dave B., Steve H. and Bob S. and all that helped with running the match for me. See you all at the state SB match in two weeks.....that is if I can remember where I packed up my guns! :)

Darn McAlice...and I was looking forward to the elk steak and picking off tree rats experience!!! Where are you going to hide all those guns?
I will be there are the smallbore so I guess I'll get to catch up then but I have to agree with you, there is never any wind in CO and just light breezes from what I hear in AZ.

BTW free food 24/7 is good but we need the beer wagon and open bar at least 12 hours a day.

Dont worry Bob most shooter wont be put off by that....I know I would rather shoot there in a winds storm than some places I have been too...Co is a very pretty area...I hope to make it to one of your shoots..I been there many times but never to shoot always on my way somewhere else...
