Greetings.

I'm about to get back into shootin' critters. A few years ago, Mary corresponded w/ me on the game; thank you Mary. I see you're still on board here.

As for the 52, I need a rifle for Hunter. I'd had a 1710D and sold it years ago when my lower lumbar gave me fits, ending a Silhouette career that never got started!
I am all set to go w/ an 1808 (still have that for Standard), but want a nice sporter for Hunter. I realize the new 1712 2-stage is the rage, but for the same money I can get a venerable 52 B, or maybe a C, sporter. I have one great Annie---- she stays. But what do all y'all think of a quality 52 for the Hunter category? Are they commonly used in the game? Would consensus generally be that the 1712 is the way to go? Sure. Can't lose w/ the 1712, but can I do as well w/ the 52 as I can w/ the Annie?

I guess I'm a nostalgic fool who remembers the wonderful days of 52 glory, and now want to relive them (at 63). Point is, should the 52 be relegated to pride of ownership, days gone by, and backyard fun, leaving the Annie to de-feather the chix? Seriously, just HOW WELL DO 52s do in the Smallbore Silhouette game?
Can't afford a 1712 and a 52B or C. . . I don't think. Should I brake all banks and get both, or will the 52 fill both nostalgia and deaden steel critters likewise.

Thank you. Good to write again here. As stated, Mary was the last contact, 2 years ago? Maybe more. The back gave out just at that time, but I'm still verticle--- and unlike the prone shooters, that's all we need. Let's go shootin'!

Remember 63 is still a spring chicken!

Thank you, Mary.
No, I don't know your opinion on 52s--- do share. Haven't heard from Nomad on Annies.

52's are still a great rifle....despite a Pharr/Annie custom build I still shoot my 52's first.
