I am considering a custom build in one of Marks Pharr's stocks and wanted some advice on an action. I was thinking of buying a new 1712 action, however I can't seem to find them. If I buy the whole gun I figure I would probably pay about $600 for an Anschutz wood stock just to sell it for a hundred bucks, if I could even find a taker.

Anyone know where I can get a new 1712 action or a suitable replacement action?

Champions Choice had them for $1050 a few months ago, I would check there first.

Evelio mentioned CC had finally received a shipment of twenty 1712 actions. That was 6 weeks ago in Winnie so they might be gone by now. I would be willing to bet they would take the stock off one and sell just the action then get a replacement action for the extra stock when the next order came in, $ is $ I would think.

Get you money together and post a wtb ad or hope someone posts a cherry build like I just got. Oh how sweet it is, the CZ is a good rifle but it will never be a 1712 in a Pharr stock.

I've got a 1712 with a single stage trigger in a Nesika stock going up for sale. Send a message if you're interested.

Just rec'd a flyer from Zander's that listed the 17series rifles in 17M2; $ looked low enough to rebarrel to .22 and be in line with 1700 actions only. I'd be glad to help you get one. Roger

My all time favorite build is on a 54:18 MSR action....I've had 1710's and 1712's built, and caused to be built several more, shot a bunch of different guns, but the 54:18 "frankenhunter" is the one that would be the very last to leave my gunroom. Why? It just "feels" better to me...YMMV.

Thanks guys, I grabbed a 1712 action from Champions. I want to keep it simple and like the less sensitive and chrome moly Anschutz barrel at this point in my abilities. Now I will look around for a real cheap used 1712 wood stock to get me by until my Mark Pharr stock is done.... mucho months.

I just bought 3 of the Zanders 1702's I should have at least one new Walnut stock available in a couple of weeks.
