I am looking for a model 57 marlin tube feed 22 long rifle,e-mail is [email protected]

The Marlin 56 is the magazine-fed model. The 57 is the tube-fed model. I think I might have one or two extra 57s in the safe that I bought for shooters that I was trying to lure to the cowboy matches. I'll try to check later tonight after the kids get to bed.

My Father had a favorite rifle that wandered off after he & Mom died - it was a short lever action Marlin tube fed .22 - what model was that and is it still made?

That is a model 57 and they do not make it any more.

Sorry for the continued delay. I did find two Marlin 57s and one Marlin 57M (22 mag) that I haven't even fired since I got them. They were intended to be backups to my cowboy rifles or loaners and I never got around to cleaning/tweaking them for the cowboy game. As I do not like selling guns, especially old ones, that I don't know work properly, I'll try to get them checked out and cleaned tonight and test them out at the range tomorrow afternoon after their long range across the course match. Would have been done and have pictures by now if not for the pesky broken collarbone and ribs (see pics in Clubhouse forum). Those things are really starting to get in the way of my shooting.

Took the two 57s out and tested them. Good thing I did, as one of them had an intermittent issue with feeding. It might have been made to looser tolerances than the Eley Club Extra EPS that I was using (all I had with me to test with), but it is probably just a worn lifter like these things can sometimes get after being used for 50 years. I have some extras, but I doubt I'll get around to testing and swapping it out before I heal up a lot more. I didn't test the 57M (22 mag), as I forget the 22mag ammo and I might keep it as a backup gun anyway.

Here's the info on the one that worked great, along with pictures. It's in good, but not perfect, condition. It comes with the vintage Marlin scope and mounts as shown, also. It shoots well, but has the heavy factory trigger that all of these came with. The stock looks to be light-colored wood that was stained darker. Here are two small pictures, but click on the links for lots of big ones. I like giving detailed pictures so there are never any surprises to buyers, but didn't want those with slower connections to have to wait all day for this topic to load. The light in the kitchen wasn't the best for these pictures, but it rained all day today so I couldn't take it outside to get better light.

Price is $350 shipped and insured to anywhere in the lower 48 and will need to ship to an FFL. Doesn't qualify for C&R FFL, even though it's old enough that it doesn't have a serial number.
