What do you guys use for spotting in Smallbore Cowboy Lever Action?

Will these binoculars do the job?

Any good quality binocular will. They need to be good quality as you will be looking through them for quite an amount of time, so to keep your eyes from getting sore the better brands and models are the go.

7x, 8x, 9x, or 10x are fine, it doesn't really make that much difference once you get used to using them. Just keep in mind the higher the power the harder they are to hold still and the less field of view you will have. A spotter needs to be looking at the correct target the same as the shooter.

Hmmm... I had a problem where my 'shooter' was shooting on the wrong bank and animal so sometimes it's the shooter that needs help and not the spotter

Burris Image Stabilizing Binoculars, the only way to go for those of us with a shake....

Yaaahoo...brake out the big wallets. Love the stabalized stuff. Now if only they can mount that on my silhouette rifle....On a serious note...most any bino will work...but make sure they have a tripod adapter so you can steady them up....The astronomical binos work extreamly well but they are pricey and heavy as well...but its a poor mans twin kowa set up. stick with multi coated lenses and BAK4 prisim if you can as these will make the image a whole lot better.

Cowboy rifle rules do not allow stands.....

Binoculars may be used for spotting. Spotting scopes or stands may not
be used.

Well shucks.....in that case nothing above 10x. 10X50 or 7X50. Bright enough with a decent field of view.

I settled on a pair of Leupold Acadia 8 x 42 binoculars to start out with, they should be here by the end of the week.
