I just cancelled a room with 2 double beds in the non-smoking section at the Embers in Winnsboro, LA. This room was reserved for the Southern Nationals for the days June 4 - June 7, Thursday night through Sunday night.

Twilla and I are still planning on being there. I had 2 rooms reserved and Mark Boekman is not going so I let his go.

Just snagged this room! I think they might have more though from the way the lady that took my reservation talked.

Although I have not been to Winnsboro before, somehow I think that the Embers is not the first choice of hotels.

Evelio is staying there too so I think we might be having a tailgate party in the parking lot....

Rooms at Winny are a premium period. As for a tailgate party, you will be ready to dive into bed by the time you get back to the room. There will be more than enough partying at the range before you have a chance to leave.

Hey, what happened to the pool?

Nothing wrong with the Embers motel, I stay there several times in the past. The pool was filled with dirt about 8 years ago.
Mary is right, by the time you leave the range, all you want to do is eat and hit the bed.
Ralph, this year I am staying at the Chase, I made a reservation last year while I was there, but we can always have a party there.

I wonder if anyone else noticed that when you enter the address into Google Maps, it actually takes you to an Ace Hardware that is about a mile and a half from the motel? I hope the address I put into my Garmin gets me a little closer than that.

Hey Pat,

Google doesn't have the location of the Embers right. I had to play around with the map to move up and down the street until I found it. Still, I think Street View is really cool.

Winnsboro is a small town so you'll find it.

You won't have any problem finding it, it is right on the main Hwy. The annex is where I always stay, it is on the side street across from the main location.
