It's a shame George, but I sure don't blame you! Organizing a major match is a full time job very few can commit to. Just running regular club matches takes a surprising amount of time!

We always enjoyed the few times we were able to shoot at Benton Gun Club. Benton Gun Club is first class. Everyone who puts on matchs needs a break to actually shoot some and enjoy life. There is no rule that says a group cannot put on matchs for a few years, stop for a few years to take a break and then start back directing matchs later in life.

George, there is a possible solution to your 3 acre grass problem that is made in Batesville, AR. My solution was a Bad Boy Zero Turn Mower. I have the 52 inch Lightning model with the 26 Horsepower Liquid -cooled Kawasaki. It has the highest power to weight ratio of any mower on the market. I am cutting acreage at 2 and 1/2 inches with this mower that had only been bush-hogged with a tractor by everyone else. If you look at the Bad Boy only look at the commercial AOS or Lightning models with the full suspension. You will not be happy with the Homeowner models. I do not like cutting grass and these mowers drastically reduce mowing time and operator fatigue.(Not to flame Exmark, Hustler, Scag, John Deere and the favorite mowers of others.) Bad Boy has one step distribution with direct to dealer, no haggling pricing. Other Mowers have as much as a 5 step distribution process inflating their prices because 5 people have to make a living.

Look at the forums on www.lawnsite.com. You will get a laugh.

I enjoy reading about employee and hiring issues across the country on those forums. If you put on enough matchs you will get into grass cutting because usually nobody else will do it. I am thankful that one of my fellow club members with an EXMARK Zero Turn cuts the range when he has a chance to help me out. My first money making job as a kid was cutting my local STIHL shop's lawn. I have had two different Briggs and Stratton Dealerships in a past life but now run nothing but Kawasaki because they are stingy with fuel and I know too much about nonexistant Briggs heat treating methods.

The previous owner had bought this mower back in 2006. Pro series, 60" cut, 27 HP Kohler. I bought it from him with 110 hours on it, like new. Does help, that's for sure.... LOL

Simply Amazing. You already had one. The newer Badboys come standard with "dial your weight" Michigan fully suspended seats that really helps the ride on rough ground. The weight dial is on the front of the seat. That seat is a $500 option on most brands. My back 3 acres where the 100 meter berm sits is as rough as a cob as we "country-bumpkins" say. I still have not got the hang of Y turning to prevent tearing up the turf on the real yard.
