A friend of mine bought an 1808 with the 5108 trigger, but he like a heavier trigger. He said the 5108 goes up to 14 oz or so. So I guess guys converting 54 msr's to sporters have to get the trigger 2 lbs. So what springs etc do you need to get it heavier? Thanks.

Neal can send you the springs, or as I'd recommend, send him the trigger and have him clean and set it up for you.

Tough to get a MSR to make Hunter Class for silhouette, as the barrel would need to be changed to a tapered barrel, and the stock would have to go.......

If your friend wants a heavier trigger in the 1808, Bob just gave the best advice on how to do it.

This guy just likes a heavier trigger, and he is going to leave it in the "original" condition. It is actually an original 1808ED, and the barrel has been replaced with a 20 inch Lija. I think he said he bought it from Idaho.
Everybody has their favorites, but the 54MSR in a walnut stock with a 4 ounce trigger, does it for me. I would not change a thing.

By totating the cam 180 degrees you can get it to about 20 to 22 ounces, if he wants it heavier, the springs will have to be replaced.

Sorry to hijack, but can that kind of trick be done on a 64MSR's 5098 trigger or just the 5018?? I've been pulling through my trigger and set more sear engagement to fix it and would prefer a little more weight instead of more sear engagement.

I am not familiar with the 64ms trigger, but I am sure is similar to the 1712 trigger, no cam on them.
