Got to the range with my Weatherby and did some practicing today, 1st time at real distances. some things I could use some help with:
In a match how many shots in a row do you shoot? A bank of 10, then a rotation?
do you keep the gun up in the shoulder, or do you drop each shot and re-mount?
Cleaning- Have not shot a RF in years, what works well on lead/lube. I can get copper out, but not sure on htis stuff. How much brushing do you usually do? How often if at all do you use JB?

Five shots in 2.5 minutes, ground the rifles for a minute (give or take) and then five more. In a sixty round match there's a third cycle. Between each shot I drop the rifle, work the bolt, and shoulder.

Everyone has a different cleaning routine and you'll get a different answer from each shooter, varying from every match or practice session to only when accuracy falls off. My routine is to clean with a pull through line, a tight fitting patch and a good cleaning oil every time and never use a brush, but some internationally ranked shooters clean every time with a brush. I do believe that once you begin using a brush that bore will always need a brush to come clean.

Bore paste is used only when a bore is rough or won't come clean, which is rare. It probably doesn't hurt, and there's probably someone that feels strongly one way or another, but I only use it after experimenting with some really nasty ammunition or when trying to salvage a used, abused rifle or a manufacturing mistake.
