This is the scope with the AO lock ring and goes down to 50ft. Is this a good scope to use for .22 silhouette? I also will use it at my practice range (25yd). I know this scope is more than one turn on the AO from shortest yardage up. Will I get confused going from 25yds to 40 meters with this scope?

Rich, Set the AO for 25 yds. and look at the target at 25 yds. Now look at the target at 40 meters without changing anything. Not so clear, is it ? Shouldn't be any confusion there.

I have one and sent it to Leupold for a their 1/2 inch dot. I like it, but it's damn near a whole twist from 40 to 100m, and the turn is in the opposite direction. Get some of those animal stickers Paul sells to keep things straight.

If you had this scope in your hand you would see what I might be confused about. The point was this is the only Leupold scope I've seen with numbers(yards) on both the adjustable objective AND the scope tube. Also this is the only Leupold I've seen that the AO goes around more than 360 degrees (more than one full turn).

This is peculiar to the BRs ( I also have a 36BR) Heck, you can twist the ring 6 or 7 revolutions. Twist out the bell until the cross lines on the marks on the body are visible, then bring it in so the bell just touches the cross lines (horizontal marks) and match up the numbers. This will get you close. But like I said, all 4 animals can be covered in one turn, so get chickens established, make a mark and go from there. It doesn't matter what it says on the scope.

I use to have one of those manations...note no ob in my manations...I quickly got rid of it for the regular leupolds they work a whole lot better not as much to fiddle with. I liked my old series T weavers but got rid of them for the same reason it was easy to get the parallax setting mixed up since you had to turn the bloody thing 100 times

I have one of thoes scopes and I never have figured out how to set the objective lens without sitting at a bench and playing with it.

I have two Br-24's. I put a piece of gold pin stripe on the AO and marked it for each animal. It looks like a factory stripe.
