went out to aurora with KevinP and shot my first 100 rounds durring open practice and then competed in both classes. 8/40 on the first one and then 9/40 on the second one. Not too bad considering the wind picked up and gave everyone hell. I can see why this sport isn't for everyone....

Good job, Drew, now you can somewhat understand my mental state

Stick with it, practice, practice and of course practice.

Which was your most memorable shot?
The one between the legs of the ram or the boar?
The one that turned the turkey?
The one that hit the stand, the animal jumps and stays up?

Or the one that flung the chicken all the way back to the top of the berm?

If it has not happened to you, wait, IT WILL.

Practice , practice and practice and always have fun.

Sincerely,

Guest

spun a chicken and left it on the stand durring practice, almost spun a pig but it fell over in the second round. And I had those chickens flying durring practice....I got kinda lazy and went back to practice style shooting durring the second roudn ont her ams and hit two when I was just shooting instead of really concentrating on the hits.

Andrew, I remember my shot that hit about 3 feet below the stands. I wish I could forget it though. It was fun and I even shot alot better than last time.

Kevin

Anyone want to buy some tools? I need to go pick up my 1712!!

The one that hit 3 feet below the stands very well could have been deflected down by the target stand itself. Don't automatically assume that you shot 3 feet low unless that's where your scope reticle was when the shot broke. :)

The funny thing about my start into silhouette shooting is that I started out great. I went to my first match and shot 30/60 with a 10/22 that I'd been playing around with building. I thought "what a fun game" and decided to get into silhouette shooting more seriously. That led me to figure out how hard hitting those targets really was and I didn't see any scores near that first one for a long time, mostly because I was trying too hard so I wasn't relaxed and just having fun like the first match. After two years now, my scores aren't all that much above that first score. :)

I've got one more pic from that same spot, just shot it a little to the left. You are in that pic. I would like to go to greenmill, I'm not sure yet. I know my wife is going shoping one of those days and I will need to get a kitchen pass if she isn't shopping. I would like to bring her to see if she would get into it.

I'm ordering my gun today, will probably take 2-3 weeks between mailing the FFL and getting the gun in. If you want, I can order the SK or the wolf, whichever and we can deal with it later.
