• Anschutz 1827 Fortner

Posting this for John Clark, Thanks Paul

Hi Paul - I appreciate the help in posting a picture
of my new rifle on Steel Chickens. It is an Anschutz
1827 Fortner Action, Benchmark two grove barrel and a
Pharr RT/S stock with Marks bottom metal and trigger.
I'm going to the range in the morning to shoot it and
get sight settings for Winnsboro. Hope to see you at

Wow that orange is attention getting for sure. I believe this is the first I've seen of the Fortner action being used for Silhouette, is this correct?

Nope, there are a few around. My friend shoots one now, I had one and there is one in Texas and I heard of a few others.

They are a sweet action!!!

I know they're primarily used in Biathlon, looks good and I guess shoots like an Anschutz.

The Izhmash 7-2 Biathlon Basic and the 7-3/7-4 series of biathlon target rifles have a similar action. Best part is you rebolt without changing position at all and you can shoot very fast which is a huge advantage in windy conditions.
