Just curious about the power you all shoot.

I run Weaver T24's on my main rifles, but do have a KT15 on my backup........

SB Hunters Pistol 9x
Hunters Pistol 12x
SB Hunter Rifle 16x
HP Hunter Rifle 24X
SB Standard Rifle 32X

Obviously, I'm all over the place in terms of scope power. I still have not been able to find any noticeable difference in my scores when I change from one power to another. The only difference seems to be that I am less likely to crossfire and shoot at the wrong animal with a lower power scope and a wider field of view. Plus the reduced visible wobble that comes from lower power scopes seems to make me "feel" more confident and solid, even though I know it is just due to the lower magnification.

I went from 6.5x20's to Premier modified 18x40's and now I'm back again using 6.5x20's. As mentioned, with the lower power it seems to make it easier for me to hold and not want to over correct or hang on for the scope to slow down to take the shot. I know several people who have gone way down in power and their scores have either remained the same or went up, so it appears power isn't the answer in all cases.

But boy doesn it make them chickens look to big to miss

18-20 power for smallbore have fixed 24 power on high power rifles. Shot 36x for years but feel like my follow thru is better at lower power and it is easier to find the correct animal and bank.

Like 24X about the best. I have been using the 8X32 Bushnell, and keep it at 24X on most days. When it gets windy, I reduce to 18-20X.

Currently I've got a 6-24x scope on the CZ, and I seem to have settled on 16x for my setting.

I have a 24x and 8-32x. I really like about 30x once you are proficient with it.

Wow there is a huge variation out there. That is cool everyone does there own thing. I currently shoot a 24x. I have done good and bad with it. Seems like I am having more trouble with decision on the trigger than hold lately.
