The hydro-dipped 1712 is interesting. If it's the stock I think it is, I used to own that stock....I got it used and shot it for a season with a 1710 in it...When I got it it was painted black over green....I scuffed it and painted it hammertone silver....Paint kept wearing off it....By the time I passed it along to Blaubear it was UUUUGLY....The difference is absolutely amazing......

Bob259, you do realize that your new Stiller Predator has to pass through Arkansas on it's way from Texas to New York.....Hope Evelio insures it, because it'll never get past me to you.....Besides, all your friends will laugh at it because you know it'll shoot with a southern accent...It'll go "Boom, y'all" when you pull the trigger.....And it absolutely will not function when the temperature drops below 40 degrees.....And it won't know what snow is.......

Hmmm, maybe I'd better tell him to fly it then. It won't like the cold temps anymore then I do, more incentive to move out of the tax capital of the US to a warm state.

sobrbiker, That's the plan My niece and her family lives only a short distance from BA and that is my plan to move out there. Still watching over my 96 year old Mother so moving would be to difficult right now. Wish we could have moved out there before my brother and sister in law passed away, but it wasn't to be.

Getting to be so many EMac rifles, which are related to Pharr rifles, which are related to Marvin Pearson rifles, which are related to Wayne Merrier rifles that we probably need to have a family reunion at the Nationals at Ridgeway this year.......Or maybe consider developing a support group for us all......

Blaubear--- the Kimber 82 was purchased from the DCM for $185.00 it had a 27" barrel and the stock was set up with a rail and all the other stuff for 3 position shooting, I cut 4" from the chamber end, and re-cut everything back, re-crown, and cut 3/4" off the bottom, and 3" off the front of the stock, sanded it down, and put two coats of oil on the stock.
It now weights 8 1/2 lbs. and shoots like a house on fire. The Lucky owner shot it the same day he got it, and shot his first score on AAA, too bad the barrel is not tapered, he can only shoot it in the STD. class.
Kitty--- actually the 6.5x47 was shot in 41 degrees, and about 25 miles wind, I was actually very surprised at how good it shot under those conditions. I am still trying to talk Bob into starting all over with a 25 1/2" barrel, and I will keep this one for myself. I think it (gun) likes cold weather, I wonder how it will shoot once he moves to Arizona.
By the way, how in the hell do you all know who these guns belong to????????? I never mention the name of the customers !!!!!

In the case of my 1712, Kitty knew the Kessey action and his McMillan stock hadn't been seen in awhile, so when you showed one stretched out for a gorilla and with a hydro-dip treatment we haven't used before it didn't take much to identify the guilty party.

A "before" picture would have helped y'all appreciate how rough that stock was inside and out! Grinding out the ruined bedding was one thing, but I'm not bold enough to bed an Anschutz action! Evelio is The Man for precision gun work, but fixing the finish had me stumped until Northwest Hydroprint advertised dip finishes in something besides camo. Since this stock had everything to gain and nothing to lose...

Now I start planning (and saving...) for an Evelio High-Power!

By the way, how in the hell do you all know who these guns belong to????????? I never mention the name of the customers !!!!!

The Lucky owner of the Kimber 82 is very glad that he gave a beautiful but basically useless rifle to him (in it's original configuration) to Evelio who had the vision to see the rifle I needed it to be and the skill to bring it out. Well done indeed!

I hope I don't pull out all of my stitches, but I gotta shoot it, tomorrow!
