Revised NRA stock ruling

Everyone wanting to modify a hunter stock owes Geo Rhode (Chicken) a vote of thanks -- he has just been able to get NRA to make a decision that I haven't been able to get them to agree to for 2 or more years.

Greg C has just told us in a conference call that it will be permissible (IS permissible as of NOW) to add wood, bondo, whatever to your existing stock in order to make it fit you better and, as long as you don't violate the requirement that it has to 'look like a hunting style stock', you're OK.
IOW, those modifications won't be considered 'attachments' that are prohibited unless they cause the stock to veer into what would reasonably be considered a target style.

We'll formulate a letter to the committee that will detail this and Greg will submit it for the next mtg.

This will be the NRA position at Nationals...and should set the standard at other matches.

It should make the tech officers' job easier! :D

Geo is the one owed the thanks.

Now we all need to make certain that our 'gamers' don't pick this one up, klintonize it and turn what should be a reasonable, common sense solution into another 'crisis' that'll have everybody pissing and moaning!

Mr. Nomad is being way too modest... he has worked on this for years and I helped him 'break the camel's back'. My intent as only this... I thought it was a travesty that a DIY type of guy with the means and ability could not play the same game as me b/c I didnlt have the means and bought it... Like Ernie mentioned hopefully this will only be the common sense fix it is intended to be.
