No. Dressing up like a movie cowboy isn't really done in silhouette, but no one will notice if you miss targets if you have a good enough costume.

Yes they will. If you wear a really big hat and miss alot, they laugh at you.... 
Actually, it's all good fun with good people and they dress up like folks everywhere. t-shirts, ball caps, leather vests and cowboy hats, flip flops to cowboy boots. Take your pick, it's all good.

Dave most folks will put on a hat but beyond that most dress as they would for any event. I have seen some folks dress in period dress and I'm fine with that. Cowboy up if it makes you feel good no one will object.

I shoot in flip flops and band T shirts. I gained 8 animals solely from switching to that outfit.

I am sure you all know it is no longer called Cowboy Lever Action. This year the Silhouette Committee had the name changed to "Lever Action Silhouette Rifle", "Pistol Cartridge Lever Action Silhouette Rifle" and "Smallbore Lever Action Silhouette Rifle". This was done due to all the suggestions from the competitors. Note: It is always a good idea to let the committee members know your suggestions. They do listen. FWIW.....

In my area we have a dress code for B-Class shooters.
They must wear a propeller beanie and recite the phrase "This parrot is no more" every time they knock over a chicken.
