Have searched this bb almost in vain for 2 days seeking suggested loads for this hard kicking rifle. I think i saw one from 30wcf using a 405 grainer over 10 unique and of course now cant find my notes. It seems this round is a go-to for hard set critters, but not much out there or so it seems. Any suggestions welcome and thanks, particularly interested in 300 or 350 grain pills. thanks

I have had good accuracy with 12 gr Unique and 305 gr fn. About 1050 fps.

15-17 grains of trail boss behind a 300 is a mild recoiling load that has never failed to take off the hardest set critter. I know in my rifle the 17 gr load is extremely accurate.

Gator and Hat thanks!. Seems miraculous that such a a slow load w/ TB can work on stubborn rams, but i guess thats why resorting to 45-70 is the way to go.

A load of 17.0gr Trail Boss is going to have a 300gr doing north of 1350fps out of your rifle and not beat you to death. A 350gr in front of 16.0gr TB does a flat 1300fps out of my 30" bbl.

Full size Turkey paper cutout @ 150 yards - vernier tang sights with lyman front
My friend Dennis shot this today before our Pearland Shooting Club Tuesday afternoon fun match. He ups the load to 30 gr of the same powder with a 350 gr Hornady for Rams. Don't know if he ever rings one but I have not seen one remain standing after being hit.
