Need a gunsmith for my old 39

I have checked out every dealer I can find on the web and can't find a replacement octagonal barrel for my mid 1920s model 39. If anyone knows where such a barrel might be found I would love to find a nice NOS or VG used barrel... If that is not to be - Can someone recommend a gunsmith who does the turnkey barrel liner installation to Marlin rimfire rifles that does a quality job at a reasonable price....?

Dan Zimmerman of DZ arms in Oklahoma City has done liners. He's a great gunsmith and a great guy.

I will second that recommendation. I was shooting with Dan this weekend. The 4-day Mega Match was an awesome event.

Bummer, but then he can afford to be picky in his retirement. His Hepburns are selling well anyway.
I had Lee Shaver reline an 1890 Winchester for me. He did a good job.

I see you are in Texas. Have you heard of the Sommerfields (James and Jimmy I think it is). I know who they are, and their shooting is quite good. They do some gunsmithing. Not sure if the levers would be in their ballpark but they have a good rep.

You might try Ryan Hoover at RH Custom in Fredricksberg TX. Don't know specifically about liners but he has done some great work on my '73s.

He's in Pennsylvania, does liners or rebarrel. He'll do lever gun work nobody else will even look at!
