I am hoping with the SB Nationals coming to The NRA Whittington Center that maybe they will publish the dates for the next 5 years. Has anyone seen a calendar with next year's date?

I am excited about not having to wait for even numbered years to go anymore!

I hope that they move the dates away from the July 4th. I have somewhere else I need to be then every year.

Nothing becomes official until after the NRA meets and I think that is in late November. Until then its all conjecture.

I know of one other individual who was upset when this year's nationals were held on Independence Day.
For me it allowed me to use one less day of vacation. I would not be unhappy if it fell on July 4 every year but others would be.

I will keep an eye out for the dates in November if that is when they meet.

I have an obligation, and have had for over 30 years, that almost always fall on the July 4th weekend and has 2 or 3 times been the following weekend.

I certainly would expect the NRA to move it just for me.

But one can hope. I might be inclined to give it a go.

Other than that I will just have to be happy shooting the Arizona State Smallbore Championships coming up in a few weeks, September 24th and 25th and the Presidents Match and The Memorial Match which are annual events, also in Arizona.

I talked to Dennis Willing the other day, and the NRA has committed to holding all National Silhouette matches at the Whittington Center in the month of August thru the year 2023. Specific dates for specific matches were not discussed.

Dennis has made a lot of promises, and particularly with respect to dates. He hasn't kept them well.

Time will tell, and I'm content to sit on the fence and wait.

For what it's worth, at the competitor's meeting it was indicated smallbore would begin on the last Sunday in July. As has been stated previously, best to await confirmation after the silhouette committee meets. Dan

Good for us on the west side of the country, bad for the sport since the east coasters don't get one out their way. I'd rather it moves around since I can't go every year anyways.

Alternating between east and west was a good compromise.

I am still happy it will be at The Whittington Center next year.

Keeping the Nationals out west for at least the next five years will ensure the death of the sport.
A location in the middle of the country would be a fair compromise for everyone.
Last weekend I attended the Sierra Classic at Ridgway rifle club and we had nearly as many competitors for a regional as Whittington had for nationals.
