What bullet works well with this caliber? Will be shooting factory ammo, for now, but reloading for it soon.

When I used the 44 mag last year I used the 240 gr bullet both cast lead and plated. I tried other bullets weights but found the 240 work the best. Took some time to work a load that the marlin liked. Found a easy shooting good grouping load then move over to a 357 mag rifle. Still take the 44 as the back up rifle.

Which rifle Chuck? I've had a hard time getting my Marlin CB to shoot anything over 240 grain, I think it's the twist and inherent in the rifles---I've had several, all 1 in 38 twist I believe. Mine likes 200 grain cast or jacketed and with powder charges toward the mild side.

I have been using a variety of 180 gr bullets over 9 gr of Universal. Nice light load.

rams at 100??

Chuck, I generally shoot any of the inexpensive cast bullets (Lazercast, Rim Rock.....soft cowboy type) around 200 grains with between 7-11 (seven to eleven) grains of Unique. My Marlin 1894 CB leads pretty bad so I have to use the Lewis tool after every hundred rounds or so. I've had better accuracy and no leading...HA! with Hornady 200's---they just cost more$...

Check your pm I sent some load data.

100M rams go down with authority. I use Large pistol magnum primers.

I have even tested this load on the 200M CLA rams. If you have enough sight to get you out there, they will go down if you hit them. They fall slow, but they do fall.
