Thank you for the action screw pictures. Am I correct to think that the 1712 style recoil lug between the barrel and the action has to be removed before it can be installed into a 54.18MSR stock?

I think you would be better off to just inlet the stock for the lug rather than remove the lug from the action.

if you remove the recoil lug, your chamber head space will be affected, what I will do instead is to inlett the stock for the recoil lug, that is a very easy modification. If you are planning to change the barrel then removing the recoil lug is an option as you are rechambering your new barrel.
