Shoutout to Barry Ranney

I'd like to recognize Barry and the NRA and Whittington Center staffs (as well as the target setters, scorekeepers, match officials and volunteers) on what I thought was an outstanding Smallbore national championship match. Being a match director, especially of the national championships as a representative of the silhouette department, is often a thankless and very difficult job. MDs are very often at the mercy of things they can't control presiding over a horde of demanding shooters. Barry did a great job.

The match ran very smoothly and quickly; the stat office was efficient and accurate; the match was called properly; and there was not a protest that I am aware of. Additionally, Barry presided over a very orderly and respectful competitor's meeting and discussed with interest each of the suggestions. Most importantly, Barry's primary concern seems to be being a voice and advocate for the shooters and making the changes that we want.

I am excited for our future and hope that all of the shooters out there will support him and help build our game, and our future national championship matches, to the best they've ever been.

Thanks for your hard work Barry.

Dustin

There were some glitches here and there but otherwise a very well run match.
