This is going to be a great match. Who is planning on attending? And not just because they are possibly giving away a 50% off coupon for any Defiance action or the gargantuan supply of Lapua bullets, and enormous amounts of Lapua brass, or the metric sh!t ton of Vihtavuori powder, or the magnetospeed, or the Sierra discount coupons (good for for like 1500 bucks or something crazy like that), but because it's going to be a great match. So who's in?

From the Louisiana Rifle Silhouette Team Facebook page...
The Texas Highpower Silhouette State Championship wrapped up today with the Hunter Rifle Championship. Dustin won on a tough day with a 43/60. Mike Estes from Missouri was second at 39/60 and Dennis Barber from Texas was third with a 38/60. Joe and Bruce tied for fourth at 37/60.

Dustin won the Grand Aggregate Top Gun State Championship with a two-day total of 90/120. Bruce tied for second in the Grand Aggregate and Joe was third.

Dustin is the 2016 Texas State Champion in Smallbore, Air Rifle and Highpower silhouette. He is the only shooter to ever hold all three Texas silhouette championships in the same year. He is the only Louisiana shooter to ever win with the Texas smallbore or Air Rifle silhouette state championships and he is back-to-back champion in both.

Congratulations to Dustin and the rest of the winners. Well done "Team Louisiana ".

For the Louisiana State high power match in Zwolle: Do we just give Dustin his trophy and let everyone else shoot for 2nd place? =))

That is a really nice thing to say but certainly NOT AT ALL in any way guaranteed. One of the many great things about the Zwolle match is the incredible competition that shows up. It is a very very very difficult match to win. I can think of at least 10 people that will be there capable of winning the whole thing. Everyone should come. It is always great!

As for the Texas Highpower Championship this weekend - I was EXTREMELY impressed with this match. I really like the Coolidge range and there is a bunch of great competition - when the Master-Class lineup includes three national champions and names like Mark Pharr, Bill Motl, Mike Estes, Joe DuBoulay, Bruce Finley, Dennis Barber, etc. there are some really great shooters in attendance. However, the biggest draw to this match, and the reason that shooters should be beating down the gate to get in, is the unbelievable PRIZE TABLE!

There were incredible prizes from Defiance, McMillan, Lapua, Sierra, Lilja, Sierra, Vihtavuri and others that I'm leaving out. I think every single shooter at the match won really nice prizes (given by class placing AND door-prize drawing) valued in excess of the entry fee. The B-CLASS winner won a brand new $600 stock of her choice AND a brand new Krieger barrel of her choice!! I personally walked away with over $1,100.00 in prizes. It was crazy!

Thank you very much to Mark Pharr, Jack Garrett, Liz Rockett, Chad Reynolds and all the others that worked hard to put on this match. I cant wait to go back next year!

Dustin

With all of the nice prizes that were given away, I might try to attend this match next year, just for the prizes.
