For me anyway, not Mr.PD

At 10 this morning I was closing the bolt ready to smack my pig swinger. My eye sees this varmint standing in the road between turkeys and rams. Two friends look at him through their rifle scopes while I dial up another two minutes. He is at least 450 yards out in very calm conditions. I line up the dot in the Leupold 12x and cut loose a 7mm 120 Hornady VMAX......OFF HAND!! WHOP...cut in half. I can't believe it, but it happened. One of my practice 700's firing 120's with 43.0 IMR4064 in that once fired PRVI brass. We all looked at each other in disbelief.

Not ten minutes later a high flying buzzard gets the scent and does his buzzard thing. Great day at the range today.

That was not luck. That was marksmanship. Practice, ability and knowing your load and rifle came together in that moment. Sadly, all of our local ranges here forbid "harassing" the "wildlife". Thanks for sharing. Glad you had a camera with you.

Thanks Bobby, I just got a new Sony DSC350 compact camera. That old W50 Sony I have finally crapped out after 12,748 shots, mostly posted here on SC.

It has a 20x zoom.

Some of my shots were blurry from mirage, but got two decent buzzard shots. Actually, turkey vulture..quite common around here. There is a big population of dogs on the property, plenty of food for hawks, eagles, coyotes, badgers and the clean up crew...buzzards.
