JB and BC/BB...now who is in control at the McAlice household? You guys need to look at yourselves and who wears what around your house. Even more important is to look at who is shaping the next generation of "leaders" in this country, who is influencing the next generation of voters, who controls what the 'kids' do for the weekend and entertainment. Get more women involved in shooting, I do not care which discipline, until they understand that it is a sport, not just a tool of destruction as Hollywood wants you to think there will always be strong sentiment against it.
Having said it doesn't matter which shooting discipline, think guys, is it really cool to have them not hold a shotgun correctly and bruise their shoulder? Is it funny to watch them get hit in the head from scope recoil? Look at the capapbility of the hands, arthritis can be very painful with the wrong recoil from a pistol.
I think you should be getting the point, soapbox lecture done, but shakes, remember my comments in PeEll and pms...keep it fun, let her reach her own comfort zone, and find some the old 'fuddy duddies' (sorry Imas, don't worry I'll reach that age this year too) that have only an interest in teaching the sport for what it is, to help out instructing.

Mary, whenever instructing women during Women on Target events, I emphasize shooting as precision, and that WW II studies found that women made superior snipers because their nervous systems are generally better developed than men's. Anatomically, women have different needs from a rifle that I simply cannot anticipate. Their hands are generally smaller, LOP is usually shorter and most prefer lighter rifles, but otherwise I don't know and these rules aren't always true. More than one woman has gravitated to a heavy barrel CZ Varmint!
And no, it isn't funny when any new shooter is clumsily introduced to the sport. That's cruel and dumb.

BC...many times that is not clumsily introduced to the sport, I have seen many cases where it is a macho (??) way to express the power, with negative results all the way around.

How did a story about as guy shooting his groin gbet twisted into something about teaching women to shoot? This former stud going for a sex change now and, decided to see if he can shoot Rifle Silhouette targets better than his own nads?

Have you ever had four friends together and try to stay on one topic for 30 exchanges? (except in the case of discussing sex!)

Being macho is probably how that guy got shot in the groin (see how cleverly this comes back on topic?) Trying to prove your manhood works that way sometimes.

Geeze, how would like to send you kids to a school, and have to pay for it, year after year, who has some dumb a$$ liberal hippo crit indoctrinating you chillren into the entitlemnt doctren?
My beloved country is in a tailspin, May God save our souls.

Amen, I forgot religion, and yes I just went through that 'school"and the indoctrination of Marx in all the books is rather strong. Just yesterday spent the day with a young (under 30) 4th generation Chinese guy who is so interested in making money that he does not have time to pay attention to his son, or who is teaching the boy what. He made the mistake of asking how I got my child through high school with an education. My response was private school through 8th grade and I paid attention to the ciriculum and teachers in HS. His response was "private school is too expensive and I will be travelling for the next 6 weeks and will not even see him." I asked about his wife and his response was she works 50+ hours a week as a dental assistant and that the child was in daycare or with a cousin most of the time.
We wonder how Obama got elected? Who raises the children? What can one five year old learn from another five year old that he needs to know? So whether it be in the church or the school as long as we let 'trained teachers' raise the only thing left when we are gone the world will fall under some
'power hungry leader'. So maybe all the guys should go for sex change operations then we would not have anymore children to deal with!
Sorry guys, I'm already the correct sex so there is nothing left to shoot off.

I was just sitting here pondering that I quit my serious drinking about 20 years ago, a thought popped into my mind if I hoisted a few, I wonder what I would post about McAlice?

You started all this mess JB, I we figured you got warmed up after finally drying out a bit. If you go back to you normal one or two then maybe poor McAlice would be able to read SC again!

Marv, after a couple of reads most of your post made sense. Dunno if the indoctrination part was for me, but at least here instructors can't discuss topics in class that are irrelevant to course material, and most educators fight enough distractions without veering left (or right) into indoctrination anyway. And Bible Belt? What's your point? You complain about liberals - oh, I forgot, "liberal" lost its punch so the current condemnation for views you dislike is "socialist" - but ignore how conservative the Bible Belt is. And an advantage of growing up here is learning early that the weak minded - religious or secular - are easy prey.
Mary, what I love about private schools is they do maintain better discipline than the public schools at least in part because parents are more involved. That's why we did pay for our kids to go to private school. And fortunately for us, our kids always had a parent or grandparent in shouting range.

Mary, First off one or two was never normal for me, hence the stoppage. Number second why do I get the blame for all this, I was just inquiring about the health status of my buddy McAlice!
