I'm leaving my modifications where they are and will give the rifle a full run through this Sunday at our silhouette match. I figure a full day of shooting will tell me whether or not this change I've made is a "fix".

You are giving me an undesirable urge to work on both of my rifles.
I would be happy to know how well it works, just not happy to work on my rifles.

OOPS! I updated over on RFC but forgot to update here.
I thought I would add an update on my plight to correct the ejection problems.
I shot in a silhouette match on March 28th and had zero cases exit to the left. Remember that before I made the change to my extractor I was getting nearly 90% or so ejecting to the left. I shot two matches (2x40 = 80 rounds), plus around 30 rounds during practice and not one flew out to the right. I did have about 5 or 6 end up back in the breech but all the rest ejected nicely to the right as they should.
I think I am going to shape the extractor a small amount more and see if I can get 100% ejection to the right. What a goofy thing to have to do to an expensive rifle.

Another update on my Anschutz 64 extractor modifications. To recap, I reshaped the tip of the extractor, and I also stoned the inside edge of both the extractor and retainer in order to close the gap between the tips of them at the bolt face (down from .227" to .215").
I shot in another silhouette match yesterday (both in Hunter and Standard). 40 shots each match and all of practice (about 30-40 shots). ZERO extractions to the left and only two cases failed to leave the breech. On those two I failed to operate the bolt fully so those were my fault. So in reality I had 100% successful extraction to the right side of the rifle. I am claiming victory on this operation.

I am shooting my 1808ms and 1712 in a match Sunday. I am going to keep track of my cases which stay in the rifles If it is a fair amount, I might as well give a second opinion of the proceedure.
