I wish I had this quandary. Being left handed, there's is limited selection of currently available LH rifles.

There's been some good advice offered...as Mary put it, practice, practice and then practice some more.

One thing that can be very deceptive about trying other people's rifles is that a rifle you pick up almost always feels great, even if it doesn't really suit you in the long run. For example, it is easy to get too much weight forward that is difficult to manage in a longer match. Getting a stock that fits you and the scope mounted so that you can achieve a consistent position is important in my experience. It may take some time to get it "just right".

There is one enduring problem with Anschutz actions. They don't eject spent brass with any degree of consistency. That's why you see so many people shaking the fired cases out.

The trigger in the 1712 comes set to roughly a pound in the first stage and another in the second. Anschutz had set them to a pound and a half and a half pound in the second, but got a lot of complaints about pulling through trying to find the second stage. The myth of the two ounce second stage is just that. Most people simply can not control such a trigger. The two stage trigger allows you to have a lot of sear engagement (for safety) and then take most of it up in the first stage which allows for a more precise release. Not everyone will agree with this, but that has been my experience.

What she said......old 40X single shot here, in a self customized Brown fiberglass stock ($100). That said my all time, life time, highest score was at Winny with a borrowed 1700 something in one of the fancy stocks, 38/40..go figure, hasn't happened since.
