Just my opinion but I've noticed that the most of the folks using the Pharr stocks tend to be taller with longer necks, there are of course exceptions to this. I'm 5'8" and the standard 1712 stock fits me perfect, I have the McMillian synthetic copy which is identical excepting that the roll-over cheekpiece is slightly more prominent. The Pharr comb is a little high for me, and the lack of checkering or stippling makes them difficult to grip during the hot summers when your hands perspire. Still it's difficult to argue with success, the best shooters in the country use them.

When McMillian inlets them they pretty much drop in, with a minor bedding job they fit perfect.

I'm wondering about the barrel because I am thinking about getting the McMillan stock for my CZ455 with a Lilja Barrel. It isn't the standard taper that Lilja offers, it was a barrel that I had Evelio fit to the action. It is definitely wider than the factory 1712 barrel the stock is made for.

Inletting a barrel channel or filling one is very easy.
