Dan: I also own a Kenyon Anschutz for rimfire silhouette...its a dandy. Karl hardened the receiver and threaded it...he hated the pinned in system. One of the bench rest boys who also shoots our game and is a pretty fine barreling and chambering guy...he uses a Rifle Basics trigger and claims that they are very good (better than jewel)...I have no experience with them...but I'm intrigued. Does anybody else use them?

I have a Rifle Basix trigger for a R700 and it is a piece of shi... well, it sux. The trigger to sear edges are not sharp so the trigger has a very mushy feeling just before they break. Basically the trigger "edge" is rolling off the sear "edge" instead of crisply breaking. I was pretty disappointed in it. Because of the rounded edges I had to set the trigger up with tons of creep in order to keep the trigger from failing a bump test.

Maybe I purchased a fluke. I'd never buy another to find out. Maybe I should contact their service dept and see if they'd send me a new sear.

I'm with Trent concerning the Rifle Basics triggers. I purchased one for an XP pistol back in 1995. It major league suxs. And, like Trent I'd not pay to find out if they've improved their triggers....a bit of the old, "Once burned, twice shy." The only Remington replacement trigger that was as bad as the Rifle BaySuxs trigger was a Shilen trigger, man was that a waste of money.

Now, I have a Shilen and I actually like it quite a lot. Although, they are hugely sensitive to pierced primers damaging the sear. I have one on a .204r which run at pretty high pressures and turns out that CCI-400 primers don't appreciate said pressures. Sure enough, first blown primer and my trigger got damaged. Little bit of research and I found that this is not uncommon. Shilen will fix it when this happens, for a fee I believe.

I've since changed primers in the .204r and no more issues there. Rather than sending the trigger to Shilen to ask for a new part I just stoned the chips out of it, adjusted the engagement and it works great.

Granted, I don't have any Jewels, Jacksons or Kenyons to compare it to.

I do have a Canjar set trigger that is pretty sweet, but that's a different animal all together.

How do the timney triggers compare to the others? And I to had a baSUX! and will never buy one again.

Canjar!!! I had a bunch of them. They work for a while then they malfunction. at the Nationals one year I was spotting for guy with a Canjunk when it decide to malfunction...it wouldn't fire when you pulled only when you tried to lift the bolt..... The Rifle Basix stories are very interesting....but their varmit trigger has a fan....claims its OK Seems to me there's a guy somewhere who tunes up standard Rem triggers...get them down to about 6oz. I will research and report later
