Oh yes and where do they try and fit the 4" pvc at. If it is over the belly I am in trouble.

Kevin,
Take the vest first, spotting scopes are something you can borrow at every match with a spotter attached or not.
As peoples eyes are different, I would recommend taking the time to at least look through several different scopes for at least several realys of a match to determine which of these suit you. While the glass on many of the scopes is good, extended use may cause some eye fatigue, so try a few different ones.
As for the 4" between the belly, don't worry about that, the velcro adjustments take care of that problem.

The previous comment about the Hardscrabble being 'ugly' the picture on this web does not do the vest justice. Do take into consideration what colors you wish, my first was blue and gray, the second is multicolored, needed it in a hurry and so I took what ever colors he had enough of to make one, actually it is very pretty, red, purple, blue and teal.
There are many fashion statements made by some of the shooters with sequined hats to match the vests/gun stock colors. Hey if you can't shoot well just make sure you look good doing it!!!

Sean, great pictures thanks for putting them up.

I would get the vest first!!!!!

If you don't get a good spotting scope, don't even get one.

Jerry,
Very good point on getting a good spotting scope, or none. Thanks for adding that input.

Vest or Spooting Scope

Kevin;

My $.02, buy the vest. Some one will have a spoting scope on the range. A vest really works. I did it the cheap way for now, I sewed the felt pad from an old position shooting jacket into a shot gun vest. It works and is cool in hot weather. After I get the new gun paid for I'll plan for a better vest. I wonder what kind of bling Kitty's got on his vest?

Are all of the hardscrabble as butt-ugly as those pictured? Geez... I guess we should consider "silhouette specific" products considering the small market but I'm fine with the Browning shotgun vest I bought 12+ years ago. I just went to a shooting store (Williams Gun Sight) that had a lot of them and found what suited me.
Alright now.... thems fighting words..Ha-Ha...

This is "My" girl, and I would be happy to win 1/2 of the title won in this particular vest....
