What Jerry G is saying is correct. Technically the Standard Velocity is about 1200 fps. Above 1200 fps is concidered High Velocity. The typical target ammunition is "sub-sonic" for beter accuracy because it does not go in and out of the sound barrier. The high end of target ammunition is 1080 fps, many are at 1050 fps and some even lower. At 68 degrees and sea level the speed of sound is at 1125 fps.
