Re: Rifles all ready for competition
I think the matches held at CRC by Ed Jones must be the most closely held secret in the Volunteer state. I would be great if Number10GI could come with you Jason. There are a few new Tennessee shooters every year who "discover" these matches. If you like silhouette, you'll like it here.jjp wrote:I wish yall's shoot wasn't on the same day....Number10GI wrote:That set up looks great Jason. My 1712 was shipped to me today, can't wait for it to get here. Good luck in Chattanooga, that new scope should make a world of difference compared to the fine reticle in your other scope. You can't hit anything if you can't see the cross hairs.

I plan on shooting a couple matches there this year. One of the guys I shoot with has made the matches there so I'll hitch a ride with him. Appreciate the invite.

Re: Rifles all ready for competition
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the CRC next month. I missed last season and getting all pumped up for this year. Just look for the short chubby guy using aperture sights with a confused look on his face as to why he cant hit anything!
Wind is unpredictable at the range so reading the wind for the rams can get tricky. I never noticed it a couple of years ago, but I shot there on the same range a couple of weeks ago for a prone match and the wind was blowing left to right around 10mph and pushing shoots 4 inches+ at the 100yd targets. It was pretty visible on everyones targets and more noticable on the targets the higher off the ground they were placed. The target stands for the rams/turkeys are about 5ft off the ground and will be effected if the wind is blowing.
See I have already started to work on my excuses (signs of becoming a veteran).

How often are prone matches being held at CRC? Who's the match director, if you don't mind sharing. Shooting the A-23/5 target?
Thanks,
Boyd

Matches start at 0900 register at 0800. Neil Bratcher runs the matches. PM sent with 2010 match details and specifics. Let me know if the attachment did not work.

Jason, take some Flitz and those rings you've got will polish up to a mirror finish. I've got four sets of Marvins rings and have Flitzed them all. I can see how much im sweating when Im in a shoot off.

That's a good idea. I might add some bling to it.shakes wrote:Jason, take some Flitz and those rings you've got will polish up to a mirror finish. I've got four sets of Marvins rings and have Flitzed them all. I can see how much im sweating when Im in a shoot off.
