Actually, you New York guy driving 12 hours round trip to Ridgeway to shoot the Garand match is something we ought to consider heroic...Sounds like you had a great time.

Well the actual driving time is only about 4 hours driving each way, 8 hours driving. However, it's 12 when Pete drives because of all the stops we have to make for him

.

It was a great time and we all enjoyed it. Shooting with open sights between 200 and 500m is interesting to say the least.

I don't know about you Bob... but in 1972 my eyes were a heck of a lot better then they are in 2008. It's always more fun when you can see what your aiming at

Actually, I think we all know who "metalhead" is, what I don't understand is why the only times he ever makes a post is to critizise or put down somebody.

Mary,

How contrary of you when you KNOW that you were the main instigator in the Chicken George betting fiasco in 2006 at the Southern Nats! Or was it Dawg and a few adult beverages? I seem to remember Mongo with a gallon jug of Bud in the middle of the handicapping between Chicken and Limey!

Anyway, are you starting early on the Golden Cow Patty award? If so, all must remember that it only officially starts at the match unless someone wants to start an official Cow Patty thread for the Southern Nats!

I have to say, that sometimes, some of the posts that I read in this forum, and specially in Rimfire Central, does takes a lot of restrain in my part not to say something. When I do, I try to be very diplomatic about it, and try my best not to insult or put down anybody.
You know that everybody that reads this forum, are somewhat interested in silhouette shooting, you, and me, being gunsmiths should try to help this folks as much as possible with any questions or problems that they are having with their equipment.
I myself would love to hear more about the great work that you do, and specially see some pictures and specs. of your scope mounts.
Most times that I post something in this forum, my main intention is to try to give as much information as possible, that will help promote, and increase participation in this sport, which I love, about as much as I love working on guns.
Merv. I know you can help a lot on this forum, so quit being such a sour puss, and give us some good postings.

I'm "Limey" if i told you who i am you would not know.....LOL, I have Limey on my NRA classification book, last year i filled all my applications for matches including the Southern Nationals with no name just "Limey", no one batted an eye. When Duckgumbo gives you a nickname it sure do stick....
