Coincidences are continuing. A few weeks ago I purchased a 1400 series(think it was a 1413) that Mark Pharr had built into a Hunter Class rifle. I had spotted for the friend that had it built and watched thousands of rounds go downrange out of it through the spotting scope. So, I knew it was a great rifle. This 15 year delay mentioned for the quality problems to show up after the wall went down is explained by the 15 years it took for the flaws to make it through the machining, assembly, shipping, customs, and retail distribution process. Jim T., deleting that part in your post where you admitted that you violated Federal Law by ignoring Customs and sneaking a firearm into the United States might be a good idea.. Nobody wants to see a nice guy and fellow Silhouette competitor go to a Federal Penitentiary. Hopefully, a statute of limitations exists for this but with the present executive branch in office, the anti-gun bureaucrats would prosecute to the hilt. Does anybody here know if C & R regulations would cover a 1407 brought into the United States in the manner Jim mentioned during the 1970's time period?

I am assuming the entire shipment of beer along with the rifle went thru customs upon arrival in the US no "sneaking" was intended just using a favorable exchange rate to help out a poor 17 year old. I do appreciate your concern.

BTW, not sure what business you are in, but if you accept a 15 year timeframe from initial production to final retail sale you must be living the good life.
